Stamford Boot Room
Fitted Storage for a Period Home
This boot room was designed for a period property in Stamford, creating a generous and well-ordered space for coats, shoes, outdoor clothing and everyday household storage. The joinery wraps around the room in a fitted corner arrangement, making full use of the available height while keeping the floor area clear and practical.
Tall painted cupboards provide concealed storage above a lower run of open compartments, each sized for wicker baskets. This gives the room a useful balance between hidden storage and easy-access spaces for the items that are used every day.
The design keeps to a traditional language, with simple framed doors, painted timber, rounded moulding details and a calm grey-green finish. A small built-in seating area creates a practical place to sit while putting on shoes, while the baskets soften the cabinetry and bring a more relaxed, country-house feel to the room.
The result is a boot room that feels purposeful without being purely functional. It gives a busy entrance space structure and storage, while still feeling warm, settled and appropriate to the character of the house.
