Made-to-Measure Storage for Boots, Coats and Everyday Use
This boot room was designed for a period property in Rutland, creating a practical entrance space for everyday storage while keeping the room calm and considered. The joinery combines tall cupboards, a fitted bench and dedicated boot-and-shoe storage, giving the client a useful place for coats, footwear and household items close to the garden entrance.
The design makes use of the full height of the room, with painted cabinetry built around the proportions of the space. The tall cupboard doors give the room a clean, ordered feel, while the bench creates a natural pause point for taking shoes on and off.
Tongue-and-groove panelling, traditional mouldings and a painted finish give the piece a familiar, period-appropriate character. The oak seat adds warmth and a practical hardwearing surface, while the engraved “Boots & Shoes” detail gives the storage a quietly personal quality.
The result is a boot room that feels both useful and settled. It gives the home a dedicated place for the things used every day, without making the entrance feel overly functional or cluttered.
