Bespoke Hallway Storage for a Period Property
This boot room was designed for a period property in Kirby Muxloe, creating a practical place for coats, shoes and everyday belongings without losing the character of the entrance space. The joinery was made to fit the full height of the room, with tall cupboards to either side and additional storage above.
At the centre, a built-in bench provides somewhere to sit while putting on shoes, with drawers below for smaller items. The arrangement keeps the hallway useful and organised while still feeling calm and properly fitted.
Traditional shaker-style doors, tongue-and-groove panelling and a natural timber seat give the piece a simple, settled quality. The oak shelf adds warmth and provides a place for decorative objects, while the coat hooks make the central area useful for daily use.
The result is a boot room that feels integrated into the house rather than added afterwards. It gives the family practical storage for busy everyday routines, while the detailing and proportions keep the space appropriate to the age and character of the property.
