Meet Jack
Founder & Director
The Loughborough Joinery Company is led by Jack East, a joiner and cabinet maker based in Rothley, Leicestershire.
Jack started the company with a simple aim: to make considered joinery for real homes — pieces that are carefully made, properly fitted and built to be used every day.
His work is practical and detail-led, shaped by the space it belongs in rather than by standard sizes or off-the-shelf solutions. Whether it is a kitchen, alcove unit, wardrobe, piece of fitted furniture or repair to existing joinery, the aim is always to make something that feels natural to the room.
Working as a small workshop means each project stays personal. Jack remains closely involved throughout, with care given to the measuring, making, fitting and finish of the work.
For him, good joinery should feel solid, useful and quietly considered — not overly complicated or showy, but made with care and made to last.
Meet Tom
Workshop Lead
Tom works alongside Jack in the Rothley workshop, bringing a background in cabinet making, window fitting and high-quality kitchen manufacture.
He began his training in northern Germany, where he completed an apprenticeship as a cabinet maker and window fitter after high school. That experience gave him a strong practical grounding in precise timber work, site fitting and the careful making of pieces that need to last.
After moving back to England three years ago, Tom worked at deVOL, manufacturing kitchens and developing his understanding of traditional cabinetry, painted furniture and considered detailing.
At The Loughborough Joinery Company, Tom helps with the making, preparation and fitting of bespoke joinery projects, supporting the careful workshop approach that runs through every piece.
Local, personal and made-to-measure
We work with homeowners across Leicestershire and the surrounding area, creating bespoke joinery and fitted furniture for real homes and everyday use.
You do not need a finished brief to get in touch. A few photos, approximate measurements and a sense of what the space needs are usually enough to begin. From there, we can talk through what is possible, what will work best, and how the piece can be made to fit naturally into your home.
