A Small Cottage Kitchen with Hand-Finished Shaker Cabinetry
This small cottage kitchen was designed around a compact room with tight corners, existing window openings and limited wall space. The aim was to create useful everyday storage without making the room feel overfilled or losing the simple character of the cottage.
The cabinetry was made with traditional face frames and shaker-style tulipwood doors, giving the kitchen a familiar, practical and quietly detailed feel. The layout brings together base cupboards, a Belfast-style sink, wall storage and a tall cupboard, all carefully fitted to make the most of the available space.
The kitchen was hand finished to suit the client’s specification, with a soft painted colour, simple timber knobs and oak worktops bringing warmth to the room. The brass and chrome fittings add a traditional note without making the space feel too decorative.
The result is a modest, well-resolved cottage kitchen that feels personal and made for the building. Each piece has been designed to sit naturally within the room, giving the client practical storage, working space and a calm handmade finish.
